Introduction: How to Make a Waffle Monkey

Welcome to my tutorial on how to make a waffle monkey! For this project, you'll need 2 eggs, 3 cups of Krusteaz Belgian waffle mix, 1 1/3 cups of water, 1/3 cup of vegetable oil, and a whisk. For decorations, you'll need 1 banana, 1 strawberry, and chocolate chips. To make the waffles, you'll need a mini waffle maker and cooking spray. Now, you can get working!

Step 1:

Mix the waffle mix, oil, water, and eggs together for your batter. Next, turn on your waffle maker and pour an appropriate amount of batter (approx. 1/4 cup) and close it. The batter should start bubbling as it heats up.

Step 2:

Occasionally open the waffle maker to see if the waffle looks ready. I'd suggest flipping in after one minute so it gets a golden color. Repeat this step four times, since you'll need four waffles for your monkey.

Step 3:

For this step, arrange your 4 waffles vertically on a plate, as it's shown in the picture.

Step 4:

Next, use a measuring cup or anything else that can make a hole a bit smaller than your mini-waffle. Make a circle indent in one of the waffles and separate the two pieces.

Step 5:

Place the small circle on your second waffle. Now, tear the excess waffle piece so it becomes a curved strip. This will serve as the tail and arms.

Step 6:

Split the curved strip into three small pieces and place them near the top left and right of the second waffle. The last piece, the tail, will go on the right side, slightly below the horizontal middle. Your waffle monkey should now look like this.

Step 7:

With your fourth waffle, repeat the step in which you made a smaller circle inside the mini waffle, and separate the small circle from the bigger hollow one.

Step 8:

Tear the hollow circle once and move it so it becomes a long strip. These will become the monkey's arms and ears.

Step 9:

Rip the long strip into two and place them on the bottom sides of the monkey. Then, take the small circle and split it into pieces that look somewhat the same. Place the semicircles on the upper sides of the first waffle, and your structure should look like a monkey.

Step 10:

Now, it's time for the decorations! Take your banana and slice or cut two small discs, and remove the skin.

Step 11:

Place the two pieces on the first waffle and arrange them as it's shown in this picture.

Step 12:

Now, take two chocolate chips and place both of them in the center of each eye.

Step 13:

Now, take a strawberry and remove the stem. Once the stem is removed, cut off the top of the strawberry. This piece will be the lips.

Step 14:

Split the piece into two and place one under the other. Your waffle monkey is now complete! Everything used is edible, so treat yourself to a wonderful waffle monkey!
