In this Instructable, you are going to learn how to overclock your Raspberry Pi's MicroSD Card reader.

Let’s get started!

Step 1: What You'll Need

  1. Raspberry Pi 1, 2 or 3
  2. 8GB MicroSD Card
  3. Notepad++

Step 2: Find the Correct File

Insert your MicroSD Card on your PC.

Open it up and look for a file named "config.txt"

Open it up with Notepad++ to keep the formatting as it should be.

Step 3: Overclock Your Reader

Create a new line under the line that reads "over_voltage=0"

Type in "dtoverlay=sdhost,overclock_50=100"

Click "Save"

Close the file.

Eject the MicroSD Card.

Insert it back to your Raspberry Pi.

Congratulations, you’ve just overclocked your Raspberry Pi's MicroSD Card reader and that’s it for this Instructable.
