Introduction: How to Prepare a First-Aid Kit

Do you worry tragedy will strike and you won't be prepared?

With this kit, you will be ready for almost all at-home injuries that come your way!

Step 1: Container

Buy or find a waterproof, sealable, medium-sized case to hold your first-aid materials.

Step 2: Safety Manuals

Add basic safety manuals to your kit, like the 4 Ps and the ABC method.

Step 3: Cream and Tools

Add burn cream, *latex gloves, and q-tips to your box.

*Do NOT add latex gloves if you or someone who may use the kit in the future is allergic to latex

Step 4: Tools

Place tweezers, a thermometer, and a reliable flashlight with fully charged-batteries in the box.

Step 5: Disinfectants

Now put antiseptic ointment, alcohol prep pads, and all disinfectants into your box.

Step 6: Wound Care

Add medical tape, Band-Aids, gauze pads, and ACE bandages.

Step 7: Variables

You can add or not include things in your kit depending on your location, circumstances, or medical issues.

Step 8: Location

Pick a good place for your first-aid kit like the kitchen, where accidents frequently occur. Do not put your kit in the bathroom, because ointments and creams can only be in a small range of temperatures and the bathroom humidity can affect it's use.

Step 9: Communication

Alert all family members or household members of where your new first-aid kit is in case of emergency.

Step 10: Keeping Up With Your Kit

Now remember to use your first aid whenever you need it, and check the expiration dates on ointments and antiseptic every 6-8 months.

Step 11: Disclaimer

Always call 911 for major medical emergencies. You can not treat every injury with a basic first aid kit.

Thank you!!
