About: Drew Charter School believes that making is an essential part of education.

Have you ever wanted to grow vegetables, but you can’t because your family doesn't have a farm? In fact, you actually can! Regrowing celery (or other vegetables) is easy to do and doesn’t take that much work. This instructable is talking about celery, not any other vegetables.

Supplies

  1. Full celery (not a stick of celery)
  2. Water
  3. Clear cup that can fit the celery
  4. A sunny place
  5. Measuring tap

Step 1: Cutting & Moving

  1. Take your full celery and cut off the celery sticks. Make sure that the remaining celery is flat on the top.
  2. Put the celery in the clear cup. (again, make sure that the cup can fit the celery)

Step 2: Filling

  1. Fill with water until the water reaches the top of the celery’s roots.
  2. Move the cup to a sunny place.

Step 3: Measuring & Waiting

  1. Measure the celery. How tall is it? Seven, eight centimeters?
  2. Wait 1 day.
  3. Check on the celery again. Any difference? Not really? Measure it. Is it taller? Yes? No? If not, then wait another day and measure again.

Step 4: Tips and Tricks

  1. Replace water if not growing
  2. Once the celery is big enough, you can eat the part that had grown!

Congratulations! You have just regrown celery
