How to Replace the CPU in a Laptop

This guide will be how to find and replace the CPU in laptops.

Supplies

ESD Strap

Screwdriver

Step 1: Remove the Battery

Slide the button up and pull the battery up from the side.

Step 2: Hard Drive

Remove the hard drive by taking out the screws and pulling it out.

Step 3: DVD Drive

Take out the screws and remove the DVD drive.

Step 4: Keyboard

Now take out the keyboard.

Step 5:

I forgot to take a picture of this, but you will have to remove the heat sink. On my laptop I had to loosen the screws and pry it up a bit and was able to slide the CPU out from under it.

Step 6: Your Done!

You have now gotten to the CPU, and you can put a new one in.
