How to Use Canva

First go to www.canva.com and create a free account.

Step 1: Canva Account Set Up

Put in your email and pass

Step 2: Log In

Once you are logged in to Canva, start exploring your options.

Step 3: Options, Options

Take a look at all the different options you have to create your graphics. There are ways to use templates for any project or you can create your own by clicking on the blank option for you to create from scratch.

Step 4: Creating a Card From Blank

Try creating a blank birthday card and use your imagination. From the templates on the left side, you can just click on the one you like that is free of cost to you, and then edit the texts. Or you can start using the menu on the left which has elements, text, uploads and so on for you to choose from.

Step 5: Adding Elements: Shapes

Start using the elements tab which has an endless amount of options for you to choose from. Choose the square shape and click and drag on it to make it bigger or smaller, then move it up to the top of the card. Go to the text button and click on the text size you want to add.

Step 6: Adding Images

You are able to upload your own images or look for images that are provided by Canva. There are also image frames that you can choose from the elements section. Click on the circle photo frame where you can add an image to.

Step 7: Adding Images and More Text

Now we will add the image frame from the elements menu and choose a photo to drag and drop in the frame. Then we want to add more text so we will click on the text icon and add the text inside the text box.

Step 8: Add a Cake Image and Change Background Color

Now we want to change the background color so we go to the background icon in the menu on the left side and click the color we want. Then go to the elements, click on the search button and put cakes. Choose the cake you want.

Step 9: Saving Your Work

Now it is time to save your work. You can click on the top right-hand side to choose the format you want to save your work in. In this case, I want it to be a JPEG. Click on the JPEG and click download. That is it!
