Introduction: How to Use a Three Compartment Sink (Dunkin')
Most Dunkin' have a sink with three compartments and a particular way on how dishes should be washed. Following these instructions to learn how to correct with the sink to wash dishes.
IMPORTANT: Please be aware of the temperatures of the soap, sanitizer and water. If too high they may cause burned and/or irritated skin.
Supplies
- Three compartment sink with working soap/sanitizer dispenser
- Dawn sprayable soap (if applicable)
- Dish brushes
- Dish rags
Step 1: Plug Drains
- Starting with a clean sink, insert the drain plugs for the "Wash" and "Sanitize" labeled sides on the sink.
Bring all dirty dishes to the sink and stack them next to the "Wash" compartment of the sink
Step 2: Set Up Sink
- Dispense the dish soap and sanitizer solution by holding down their respective buttons and twisting to the right.
- By twisting the button it will stay in place and allow the liquid to dispense without you needing to hold down the button.
Note: Both soap and sanitizer should be warm/hot, control the temperature the same way you would with the water faucet.
Step 3: Washing Dishes
- Once the Wash and Sanitize compartments are full you can start washing the dishes
- Wash the dirty dishes using the soap in the Wash compartment
- Use a blue dish rag or a brush to clean all food/dirty off of dishes
Note: For tough residue, use the dawn dish soap spray directly on the dish. However, some stores might not carry this product.
Step 4: Sanitize Dishes
- Once the dish is clean, use the water faucet or spray head in the "Rinse" (middle) compartment to wash off any remaining soap.
- Next, place the clean dishes in the hot sanitizer and let sit for at least one minute.
- When the minute is over, stack the sanitized dishes on the edge next to the Sanitize compartment
