Introduction: How to Build a Magic the Gathering Board

Hey there, and welcome to my second project. In the first instructable I made, it was a case holder for cards. If you noticed in the picture those cards just so happen to be Magic the Gathering, I have been playing for about a month with the new cards, and have played before in the past. I got into the game very much so that I built a simple board dedicated to the table top. The inspiration came from Duel of the Planeswalkers. Before we begin, I must say this project is easy and fun! Why so? You can get really creative with your board, and do some wicked art for Magic the Gathering! Let's begin.
= What you will need=
-2x Foam Board ( I used a 20x30x3/16 inch Elmers Foam Board, but of course you can get the size that suits fit). Cost me 2.99 at Michaels
-White glue, glue in general.
-Box cutter, or anything that works out for you, (Not that hard to cut foam).
-Pen
-Light sandpaper
-Ruler (I prefer a yardstick).
-DO NOT USE ACRYLIC PAINT! Markers work the best.
reason being is because the paint will sratch your cards up bad.

Step 1: Trace, Cut, Glue
Make about 1 inch boarders on the sides, top, and bottom.
5 inches from the bottom boarder will give you a good amount of space to work with while you are laying down your lands and tapping them. You can do a little less to make more room, 4.12 I'd say.
In the lands box you will need 2.12 inches from the side boarder to make a graveyard. Then a divider line of .5 inches.
Make reminders not to cut into the boarder and play area! Now with our tracing done, and making a size area suit fit, we need to cut out the land and graveyard box. Don't cut out the divider.
Then after we cut out one side, we do the same for the other. Then with your glue, make a even spread on the cut out foam board, and get a tiny bit of glue on the divider. Lay it out evenly on the second board, end result should look something as such.

Step 2: From the Scraps
Library pad was easy pesy, from the scraps of the lands area, use that to cut out whatever you need to add, in my case a library pad for my well...library. I took a bowl, traced around it, and whala! Then glue that down some where by the graveyard.
Step 3: One Blank Board
Now that we have a board, paint some artwork, and go play!
