Introduction: How to Fix a Faulty LCD Monitor
Most of the time it will be blown capacitors in the power supply. Symptoms include not turning on or turning on and then off after a few seconds. This is also the same for LCD TVs. The cost to replace these caps is a few pence or if you are like me you just look through your component scrap bin, then the only cost is 5 minutes of your time.

maybe you can try this fast dirty way i had the same prob. it can works when you heat up your monitor witouht heat maybe it takes at my 10.-270min to get a signal but when i heat the whole monitor at heater in german heizung ^^ for 2-5 min only to get "life" but dont know how long this works before dead

I had the same problem with my 32" LG TV. It cost me less than £5 to get replacement capacitors from Maplin.
