I love hammocks! They are a great way to stay off the cold wet ground. Even better they are comfortable! I use a hammock every time I go camping. I wanted a way to hang a hammock indoors. This is what I came up with. Enjoy!

Materials:
-Stud finder
-pencil
-measuring tape
-1/4 “drill bit
-3/8” x 4 ½” lag hooks
-drill
-hammock (Duh)
-Masking tape
-channel locks pliers/or any pliers
-Plastic bag (optional)
-paracord (optional)
-Caulking gun (optional)

Step 1: Marking the Spots

Find 2 studs on opposite walls with the studfinder, preferably 10’-11’ apart. Put masking tape on the spots and make a mark on the tape with a pencil.
Note: The decided areas do not have to be on opposite walls but cannot be on the same wall.

Step 2: Drilling the Hole

Using the1/4” drill bit drill a hole on the mark and into the stud. You want to use a drill bit smaller than the lag hook’s diameter, so when you screw in the hooks, they will be tight. You can put the bag under the hole so that it will catch all of the debris that falls.

Step 3: Screwing in the Hooks

Take your lag hook and start screwing it into the wall. Make sure it goes into the stud and not the hollow part of the wall. As you go in further use the pliers to give you more leverage when screwing it in.

Step 4: Finishing Touches

If the wall got damaged use the caulk to fix any major damage to the wall. If your hammock is too short use a bit of paracord to connect the hammock to the hook.

Step 5: Tips on Using a Hammock

Use a rope folded over into two with knots on the end. It is hard to explain so use the pictures as reference. These allow you to loop the rope around a tree and use the knots as a place to hook the hammock. This hanging system doesn't use complicated knots and is easy to set up and take down.
Don't make the hammock too tight otherwise you will feel cramped. Allow it to sag a bit so you are more comfortable.
Foam sleeping mats are also very helpful. They spread out the hammock and prevent you from getting cold from the air blowing under your hammock.
