Step 2: Preparing the Vehicles
You need to have both vehicles in close proximity of each other, so that the cables can reach both batteries. Then locate the hood release lever (which is usually located in the cabin under the steering wheel) and pull it. After you have the hoods on both vehicles up you’re ready to begin.
Step 3: Connecting the Jumper Cables
WARNING!
Never allow the positive and negative clamps to touch. If both the ends of the clamps touch the cables will arch and could cause major damage to your vehicle and also cause bodily harm or injury.
If you connect the cables out of order you run the possibility of sending electricity back through your vehicle, causing your electrical system to fail and the possibility of needing to be replaced.
When connecting the jumper cables you have to attach them in this order…
~ Connect the negative clamp to the negative terminal on the running vehicle
~ Connect the other negative clamp to the negative terminal on the dead vehicle
~ Connect the positive clamp to the positive terminal on the running vehicle
~ Connect the other positive clamp to the positive terminal on the dead vehicle

~ Remove the negative clamp from the negative terminal on the dead vehicle
