These are Rich and chocolate, cake-like cookies with a creamy filling. They will make your taste buds spin with delitement. This recipe's ingredients and taste/look is very similar to the ones you buy in stores. It might as well be the ones sold in stores. The recipe I display creates 24 chocolate angels. Now start baking!

3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
8 tablespoons cocoa
2 cups brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup evaporated milk
Filling
1 cup vegetable shortening (Crisco preferred)
1/3 cup evaporated milk
2 cups powdered sugar
Step 2: Baking-Directions
Directions
1.Preheat oven to 3502.Sift flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa together into a large bowl.
3.Add remaining ingredients; mix together.
4.Drop chocolate batter by teaspoons about 3-inches apart on cookie sheet.
5.Bake for 5 minutes.
6.Remove to a cooling rack.
7.Beat filling ingredients together until creamy.
8.Put the white filling between two cooled chocolate cookies like a sandwich, then wrap in plastic wrap.
(Note:You do not have to do the last step, only if you want it on the go)
Step 3: Time to Feast on 24 Little Chocolaty Miracles
Now, you have finished and lets see if you hard work pays off...You take a bite and.....Incredible!!! (well atleast what I think of them). I hope you like them. ENJOY!!! (Note: In the picture they look a tad bit messy but, I made it like that I'ma make another batch and make it nice like the ones you buy in stores; Also, you can put any color filling you want).

Something is not right with this recipe. I just tried to make it and they were flat. I followed the directions....isn't 1 cup of oil entirely too much???

Woopie Pies are good, and almost the same as these, but these Oreo Cakesters have some differences. One difference is these aren't pies. =p

In New England, these are called (wait for it, drum roll, please...!) whoopie pies!
