Well, I'm new to this, so please bear with me as I show you how to create your own World of Warcraft Private Server!
This should work if you COMPLETELY follow my directions. Thanks for reading this, and good luck =))

STEP 1: How to Make a World of Warcraft Private Server
Okay, so, first things first: Download AC Web Ultimate Repack 8.0 (MAKE SURE ONLY 8.0, NOT ANYTHING BELOW) at http://megaupload.com/?d=F1DMYE8D
After you have done that, open it up. All you need to do is click install. DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING ELSE!
After it installs, go to C:/AC Web Ultimate Repack. Go to "Tools", then "Map Extractor enUS" (if you don't live in the US, use the enGB one).
In this folder, copy the two files named "ad" and "maps".
After you have done that, open it up. All you need to do is click install. DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING ELSE!
After it installs, go to C:/AC Web Ultimate Repack. Go to "Tools", then "Map Extractor enUS" (if you don't live in the US, use the enGB one).
In this folder, copy the two files named "ad" and "maps".
STEP 2: How to Make a World of Warcraft Private Server
Go to your WoW directory (usually at C:/Program Files/World of Warcraft) and paste those two folders there. Double-click the "ad" file once pasted into the directory. A little black window pops up, do not touch it, just wait. It's actually loading all the World of Warcraft maps and such. This takes a while, usually 20 minutes-1 hour. Playing another game while it loads is a good idea.
After that's done, go into the "maps" folder you copied. Make sure there are a bunch of files starting with the word map. If there is, feel free to delete the "ad" file, but I don't recommend doing that. Put the "maps" folder with all those files into C:/AC Web Ultimate Repack/Arcemu. Be sure not to paste it into any of the sub-folders.
After that's done, go into the "maps" folder you copied. Make sure there are a bunch of files starting with the word map. If there is, feel free to delete the "ad" file, but I don't recommend doing that. Put the "maps" folder with all those files into C:/AC Web Ultimate Repack/Arcemu. Be sure not to paste it into any of the sub-folders.
STEP 3: How to Make a World of Warcraft Private Server
Here comes the tricky part, be careful!:
Go to the WoW directory. Then go to Data/enUS (or enGB). Look for a file called realmlist.wtf. A little window saying you can't open it will appear. Click the little circle next to "Select a program from a list of installed programs", then click OK. Find "Notepad" and click OK. WARNING: IF YOU WANNA PLAY NORMAL WOW AGAIN, MAKE SURE TO COPY AND SAVE WHATS IN THE REALMLIST.WTF IN A DOCUMENT!! After you copy the contents in the realmlist.wtf into a document (word processor, notepad, anything like that) and save it, delete everything in it, and type in this: "set realmlist 127.0.0.1" Save it. Make sure you save it as a .wtf file, not a .txt file.

Pooped out? Don't worry, you're almost done!
After that, open MYSQL.bat at C:/AC Web Ultimate Repack/Server/MYSQL.bat. Then open Apache at C:/AC Web Ultimate Repack/Server/Apache. Now, open arcemu-logonserver.exe at C:/AC Web Ultimate Repack/Ascent/arcemu-logonserver.exe. Finally, open arcemu-world.exe at C:/AC Web Ultimate Repack/Ascent/arcemu-world.exe.
Keep ALL of those open otherwise your server can't run!
After that, open MYSQL.bat at C:/AC Web Ultimate Repack/Server/MYSQL.bat. Then open Apache at C:/AC Web Ultimate Repack/Server/Apache. Now, open arcemu-logonserver.exe at C:/AC Web Ultimate Repack/Ascent/arcemu-logonserver.exe. Finally, open arcemu-world.exe at C:/AC Web Ultimate Repack/Ascent/arcemu-world.exe.
Keep ALL of those open otherwise your server can't run!
STEP 5: How to Make a World of Warcraft Private Server
Open World of Warcraft. Log in as this:
USERNAME: admin
PASSWORD: admin
Hopefully you followed directions correctly. If so, it should log on and you can play it =) you should also be a GM (Game Master)

I know this is ancient, But I would just like to say that this is a horrible guide to creating your own private server. It's just enough information to get you into trouble, With no explanations as to how to make it work. If you want to learn to do this. Go to emucoach.com. Everything is free, Including help from experts.

i copied the maps and the ad.exe file int my directory but when i click the ad file the window pops up for half a second and then disappears and nothing happens, i checked the maps folder and it is empty, what is my problem and how do i fix it?
