Introduction: How to Make a Tech Deck Spine Ramp
here is how to make an awesome tech deck ramp that should cost you less than 10 bucks!!!
Step 1: Materials
You will need:
1. A LOT of plaster.
2. spreading tools for the plaster
3. chicken wire
4. cardboard or newspaper(cardboard is better)
Step 2: Making It!
To start you need to shape the chicken wire into whatever shape you want and start putting plaster over all of the wire. The plaster will fall through and that is ok, but later if you are running low you can just scoop it out and reuse it. You should make a fairly thick layer of plaster because this is what you will be riding on when it's done. There is no doubt that this will take a long time so be calm and don't get frustrated.
Step 3: You're Almost Done!!
Depending on what kind of plaster you got it should take about 10 to 24 hours to dry. You should check on it every once in a while and fix the cracks in it so your tech deck doesn't get stuck.
I got some comments suggesting that you should sand the entire thing down. I haven't tried it yet but feel free to and comment me with how it looks. Another option that my dad suggested is to paint over the cracks. I didn't try it so I am not sure if it works.

Hey here is a good idea, i just recently decided to look at how to make a fingerboard and he used veneer as a mini plywood so what you could do seeing how plywood is flexible is sanding down the ramp and then adding plywood to make it look real then add some stickers! ;)

I think this is a great start, but it needs some work. I agree with Noodle, you need to sand it down so it's even, and after that you need to fill the spots that have cracks, either with more plaster or with Bondo. Then you'd need to paint it or apply decals, and finish the edges somehow. Like I said, you're doing great, but it needs more work.

The whole thing. It's uneven all around. There's raised ridges on everything. Sand it down with progressively finer sandpaper (probably like 100 grit to start then work your way down to 600 or something). Then the whole thing will be smooth. Like I said, even after that I think it needs paint or decorations, even if you just paint it a light, flat gray to look like cement.

You could also sand back the ramp to make the plaster smoother ;)
