yes, so be sure to use a store-bought mix and put everything in plastic!
Because it's not bubble tea unless it tastes like artificial flavours and gets a good leaching from the chemicals in the plastic straw and cup. Not to mention that lovely pile of trash you create afterward. Hey, if it tastes good, whatever!

Woah this is pretty silly... There's no point to this since you need "bubble tea mix". Imagine a pancake recipe with "Pancake mix" in it.
Any why make your own syrup when it's widely available in any store?
Bubble tea mix however, is not widely available. A useful tutorial would have taught us how to do it without "mix". How this got to be featured in the email is beyond me.

There are many posts on this site that start with pre-ready mix. That is not the point of the site.

I agree with JohnS4. Modify it to include making it without the mix.

Re: "bubble tea mix" - all it is is flavour powder - you can choose from MANY different ones. I like to use fruit juices, herb teas, ice tea, kool aid, or chocolate/strawberry syrup. Experiment with stuff you find around the kitchen. It's more fun.
The rest of the instructable is very good
