Introduction: How to Set Up a YouTube Channel

In this tutorial you will learn the basics of setting up a YouTube channel right before you start uploading videos.

Step 1: Channel Art

You should start with your channel art since it is one of the first things people will see. You should try making it look fancy and not so dull, experiment a little. You should try to combine pictures of different things together. For this I recommend using an photo editing program like Photoshop, but remember that the image it has to be at least 2560 x 1440. Finally you should put your YouTube channels name in the middle of it.

Step 2: User Picture

This isn't as important as the channel art but it is better to add a photo of what your channel is about than leaving it blank. One thing you have to remember though is that your user picture is connected to your Google+ account so the picture on your YouTube account will also be your Google+ picture

Step 3: Featured Channels

If you have fellow YouTube friends you should put them on the featured channels list and they should too, like that you could help each other by supporting each other.

Step 4: Playlists

This is only if you know what you are going to be doing before you upload videos, if not then you can make them later. These are useful to organize your channel allowing people watching your videos to find content they like faster.

Step 5: Finished

That's all you have to do to get your channel ready to upload videos, remember though you have a lot of freedom in doing this so that you can do all sorts of things. Your channel should look somewhat like the picture and that's all for now happy YouTubing :)
