How to Use Snapchat Effectively

This Instructable will teach you how to use snapchat effectively. With snapchat being one of the most used social media today, features of this app makes it kind of difficult to use.

Step 1: Download the App

The first step on how to use snapchat effectively will be first to download the app in your app store. You do that by searching snapchat in the search bar and then click install or download

Step 2: Make an Account

The next step will be to make an account. This set up process usually takes about no more than 5 minutes. The setting up process will consist of linking your snapchat with your email address, Creating a username and password.

Step 3: Verify Account

After you've signed up for snapchat, its time to verify your account. The verifying process will take you through a series of images asking you to click on all the images that contains ghosts in them (Snapchats logo) and then you click done.

Step 4: Verify Phone Number

Verify your phone number. This step is optional, and you can verify your phone number at any time. If you ever forget your password, they can send a password reset text to your verified phone number.

Step 5: Finding Friends

Now that you'e created your Snapchat and verified your email and phone number, its time to find friends. So to start adding friends you click the settings tab and you may click find friends and simply enter there username. I prefer to find friends using my contacts being that people who are in my contacts I'm most likely already friends with.

Step 6: Adding Friends

Once You've found some friends I am sure some people will follow you back. So to add friends you click on the Added me icon and then click the check by there name so now your friends can start following you

Step 7: How to Send a Snap

You Snap using picture or video messages taken and share it with friends on Snapchat. Snaps can be viewed for up to 10 seconds, depending on the amount of time you choose. Once you've taken your image or video you'll be able to to click the friend that you want to send it to.

Step 8: Viewing Snaps

To view a Snap, simply tap once on the Snap. Once you've tapped on the snap the image or video will appear on your screen for the amount of seconds the user chose.

Step 9: How to Post Onto Your Story

Posting a snapchat onto your story allows all your friends who follow you to view your snap. Posting a snap onto your story consists of the same steps you create a snapchat but instead of sending it to your friends you will click my story

Step 10: Adding Captions to Your Snaps

To add a caption, tap the middle of the screen and enter text. Tap anywhere

Step 11: Enjoy Snapchatting!

Now that you've followed all those steps you can now use snapchat effectively! of course once you've mastered those snaps you can simply enjoy the use of snapchat in another way to connect with your friends.
