Intro: Inception Totem

Hello all you people who know who I am, I was being geeky and decided to make an Inception Top.. OUT OF CLAY!
Anyone with a little clay experience will find this to be a fairly simple task that can be done in 30+ min.
It isn't hard so lets get to it!
I didn't see any other tutorials so i thought I would give it a shot.

STEP 1: Supplies!

Well when I started this project I wanted to make a mold and mass produce these, apparently I SUCK AT MOLDS. Seriously. I got resin all over the table and burned myself quite a few times. SO to do this we only need a few items. :D
-Sculpting clay that you can put into the oven(sculpey is the brand I used)
-Your oven.
-silver spray paint or whatever color you want your top to be
-sandpaper
-YOUR IMAGINATION!!

STEP 2: Making a Shape

Just watch the video.

STEP 3: Baking

Just follow the direction on the box of clay to bake.
For sculpey you should only have to bake at 275 for about 15 minutes
Don't forget to preheat your oven!

STEP 4: Sanding

Sand. Start out very rough just loosen out the shape so it is more round and looks like the beginning picture.
Next use smooth sand paper to really buff it.
sand till you enjoy the shape.

STEP 5: Painting.

Now take your silver spray paint from your holster and shake it up. Spray evenly around your top.
tips
-make sure your in a well ventilated area ( I did this in my backyard )
-make sure you wait patiently for the paint to dry otherwise this might damage your paint job
-spray evenly from a few feet away to get a smooth layer of paint.

STEP 6: FINSIHED

Now, sit back and admire your work, spin it a few times just to make sure your in the real world.
Now you can dream freely!

What I was planning on doing is use a cheap plastic top from say a dollar store and mold it around it to make it more symetrical and wil spin better.

Also, you could use air dry clay. It's less of a hassle.

But great instructable :)
im going to mill out one in school this year(form steel)
ill try but its going to take a long time i dont the class till next semster(manufacturing)
I just finished another one, this one acutally sorta looks movie like but you have to try try and try again!
Awhh, I thought it was balanced or something so it would appear to be spinning for an infinite amount of time :(
Oh well, It still looks cool.
Yeah, I made one because I like making things!
