Introduction: Insoles As Habitats Kit
Insoles as habitats Kit
This kit will allow you to create an habitat within your shoes. The idea is to take advantage of the almost non existent space within shoes to grow an organism not very popular in architecture: Black Mold, also known as Stachybotrys Chartarum (atra).
Here are the materials: Funnel (optional), soil, silicone, utility knife, plastic bag (any kind).
Step 1: Cut
1 - Cut the plastic bag with the utility knife using as a template one of your shoes.
Step 2: Glue
2 - Glue both sides of the insole using silicone. Leave a small gap in the upper portion of the insole.Let the silicone dry for 3 hours.
Step 3: Add the Soil
3 - Add the soil through the gap using the funnel.
Step 4: Cover the Gap and Make the Second Insole
4 - Cover the gap with silicone once you are done with the soil. The insole should have 70% of its capacity used by the soil. Repeat 1 through 4 to create the other insole.
Step 5: Placement
5 - Place the insole in the shoe.
Step 6: Walk
6 - Stand and walk on it.

I have to ask- WHY would you want to grow a potentially toxic fungus under your feet, and in an area where you are probably spreading spores? Is there some sort of benefit to this somehow?

The benefit is for the fungus.
