Introduction: Install Ubuntu 20.04 Jetpack 5.1.1 on the Nvidia Jetson Xavier NX Developer Kit

Here is a tutorial on installing Ubuntu 20.04 Jetpack 5.1.1 on the Nvidia Jetson Xavier NX Developer Kit.

Supplies

  1. A computer that has an internet connection with balenaEtcher (Web Version here)
  2. The Jetson Nano
  3. A 32 or more micro SD card

Step 1: Get the SD Image File

Go to https://developer.nvidia.com/embedded/jetpack-sdk-511

Click on "JETSON XAVIER NX DEVELOPER KIT & ORIN NANO DEVELOPER KIT >" under "SD Card Image Method"


Lastly, click on "JETSON XAVIER NX DEVELOPER KIT"


Step 2: Flash

Go to Etcher and use the .img file you just downloaded. Now select your SD Card to flash. It may take more than 30 minutes because this is a very large file. After it is done flashing and verifying, now put it in the SD card slot on the Xavier NX Board.

Step 3: Finalizing

Set the computer up and you are ready to go!
