Introduction: Snowboarding - Instructable Robot Stomp Pad

Getting off the ski lift can be tricky at sometimes if you are a Snowboarder. Ahh that is why it is called a Ski Lift !!

Prevent those nasty falls by following this ible and 3D print your self a Stomp Pad.

The Stomp pad is of 84 millimeter(3.3 inches) in diameter, which sticks at the side of you binding to give you snowboarding boot to grip on.

Or if you are a Pro you can showoff your 3D printing skills with this unique Instructable Robot Stomp pad.

Step 1: Select the STL File to Print

Select the design which matches you style , and download it to your local hardisk.

Step 2: 3D Print the STL File

Download the 3D printing software that you printer supports, in my case I am using the Printrbot Simple Metal which use Repetier-Host as a software to

  • Slice the STL files attached,which basically means cutting the part into various layers
  • And send commands to the 3D printer while printing

In my case I am using the following filament

HATCHBOX 1.75mm Yellow PLA

Once you have decide on which design suits you best -

  • Slice the file this should take about 13-15 seconds
  • And printing the file should take about 17-20 mins and is dependent on your printer settings.

Step 3: Dry the Spot on the Snowboard

Dry the spot and get rid of any dust with a clean cloth near the binding where you plan to stick the 3D printed stomp pad.

Use a blow drier, if you have one handy to get the spot nice and dry.

Step 4: Stick the Stomp Pad to the Snowboard

Once the spot where you are going to place the Stomp pad is nice and dry you are now ready to use an adhesive to stick the Stomp pad to the Snowboard.

Congratulation your done !! Enjoy riding the fresh powder and prevent that nasty fall while getting off the Ski lift..
