1. Mark a student present or absent
2. Add XP points for positive behaviors
3. Remove HP points for negative behaviors
4. Modify points manually if a mistake has been made or you'd like to input a specific numerical reward. Here you can also create custom behaviors (see step 2)
Step 3: Class Settings: Behaviors
Behaviors can be customized for your class. For each positive behavior, the students can retrieve more XP or GP rewards. For each negative behavior, students lose HP. If students have enough AP they can get powers to revive their HP, their team can work collaboratively to make sure everyone is doing well, or the student can complete a pledge.
Points are important in gamification because they can see their own progress in the form of leveling up. It also provides them with real-time feedback to show the student they are doing well, or need improvement.
To create a behavior select
Settings→ Behavior→ Add Behavior→ Select +/- Behavior→ Type in custom behavior→ Input points→ Save
You can also differentiate and create custom behaviors for students in the student profile section.
Step 4: Adding Powers
Each character has different powers as well as strengths and weaknesses. In Classcraft, each character has a different role and needs to rely on the other two to succeed. To read more about how to select characters for your students, click here. Students can learn new powers and level up through XP points and PP points. You can change the power students can achieve and pledges to gain more HP, random events, and kudos.

Step 5: Customizing Pledges
When a student falls behind or runs out of HP for behavior or otherwise, they can receive a pledge assigned by the teacher. These pledges can be used as motivators to keep teammates working together, or catch students up who are falling behind. Pledges can move the responsibility of checking behavior from the teacher to the student.
Select Settings→ Powers→ Pencil (edit)→ Type in custom title or power→ Input points→ Save
