Introduction: Introduction to Grease Pencil Tool in Blender Into a 3D Space.

Here I will introduce you to the "Grease Pencil" on Blender, I will also guide you on how to use this tool in a 3D space.

Step 1:

Start a new work by clicking on File, New, General. To create a new canvas.

Step 2:

Make sure you are in "Object Mode", then proceed to click on: add, then select Grease pencil then click on the Blank option.

Step 3:

Now to start using our 2D drawing into a 3D space, first, we need to create a 2D space to draw on it. For that we need to create a new workspace on the top menu.

This new screen only appears if we open it with the Grease Pencil already selected.

This new screen will give you a brand new menu of tools.

Don't forget to change from "Object Mode" to "Draw Mode", in Blender, there is an option to paint or work with each object individually that is why to draw you have to change the mode first.

Step 6:

To edit the background, we will select World Properties.

Then we select the option of "color" to change the background color.

Step 7:

To start drawing we need to create a layer to draw. For this, we need to click on the icon that looks like green spaghetti. (check image 1 on step 7)

Now to create our palette of colors to use in this new layer, we need to go "Material Properties" which looks like a red circle. (check on image 2 on step 7)

Then click on "new" to create a new color. (check on image 3 on step7)

You can even rename it as you prefer.

Down you will notice there is an option to change the color too. (check on the last image of step 7)

Step 8: Now You Can Start Drawing!

Step 9: EXTRA TIPS.

If the gridlines bother you, you can click on "Viewports overlays" to change how it is viewed.

Step 10:

In the upper bar, you can see the brush settings.

In there you can change the size, pressure, and pencil tool to your liking.

Step 11:

To see the Grid canvas to see where you will draw, you need to select "Viewport Overlays" and check on "canvas".

To move the canvas freely around you need to activate the "3D cursor" under "Viewport Overlays" (check on image to on step 11).

Step 12:

To save or to render your image click on "render" on the top left. After selecting "render" it will open a new window where it gives you the option to save as an image.

To see an overview of how your work will render click "0" on your Numpad, this will transport you to camera mode. This camera mode is the perspective that will be used to import the image.

To move the camera, change to "Object Mode" then select the camera and press "G" to move it around and press "R" to move it to the sides.
