Introduction: It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! Trunk-or-Treat Display
Every Halloween, Linus waits patiently in the pumpkin patch for the Great Pumpkin and this year, I decided to bring this nostalgic scene to a trunk or treat. Inspired by the Peanuts gang, the setup transforms your trunk into an autumn scene filled with pumpkins, ghosts, and of course, Snoopy! Trick-or-treaters love stopping by to grab candy and take photos next to the cute ghosts, making this display a true standout at any trunk-or-treat event.

Step 1: Black Poster Background
1.) Make Sally by cutting and assembling paper shapes for her head, hair, dress, arms, legs, and ribbon bow. Then add her face, hair, and polka dots with markers, then secure her to the presentation board with double-sided tape.
2.) Make Linus by cutting and assembling shapes for his head, hair, shirt, shorts, arms, legs, and accessories; draw his face, hair, and stripes, then attach him to the board.
3.) Cut a pumpkin from orange poster board, add a black paper face, and stick it to the board with double-sided tape.
4.) Cut Snoopy from white paper, draw his features, and attach him to the board with tape.
5.) Cut Woodstock from yellow paper, draw his features, and attach him to the board.
6.) Cut a moon from yellow paper and secure it to the board with tape.
Step 2: Ghosts
1.) To make the ghosts, start by taking four tomato cages and duct taping a playground ball to the top of each one to form the heads.
2.) Wrap a battery-powered string of lights around each cage, then drape a white sheet over them to create ghosts.
3.) For the Charlie Brown ghost, cut several small black felt circles and tape them randomly on the sheet.
4.) For the Schroeder ghost, cut two black felt circles for eyes, tape them on, and add the coonskin hat.
5.) For the Patty ghost, make a mask out of green and black paper, draw a face on it, and then add the red hat.
6.) For the Lucy ghost, make another mask from green paper, draw the face, and add a witch hat.
7.) Finally, add four paper bags so the ghosts can get candy too!
Step 3: Sign
1.) For the smaller sign, start with a white sheet of paper and write “Welcome Great Pumpkin.” Add a wood-like design around the edges to make it look like a wooden sign. Then, tape the paper onto a piece of cardboard about the same size to make it sturdier.
Step 4: Assemble
1.) First put the green tarp in the back of your trunk.
2.)Then put the poster board background in and add the mini pumpkins and small sign in front of the poster.
3.)Then put the ghosts around the car.
4.)Your trunk is done!
