Introduction: Jingle Bell Elf

This simple musical toy is easy to make and is ideal for accompanying singers or instruments. Thanks to Angela Lafferty for some good ideas.

Supplies

A wooden spoon;

four 25 mm jingle bells;

around 35 cm of thin string;

felt, pens, etc. for decoration.

Step 1: Preparation

Find the part of the spoon where it's around 22 mm wide and drill a 5 mm hole.

Step 2: First Two Bells

Thread two bells on the string, near the middle.

Step 3: Two Bells on the Spoon

Thread one end of the string though the hole in the spoon. Thread the other end through the same hole in the opposite direction.

Step 4: Two More Bells

Thread the third and fourth bells on the two ends of the string.

Step 5: Make It Secure

Pull the string tight. Slide the third and fourth bells so they are next to the spoon. Pull the string tight again and tie a strong knot.

Step 6: Finish by Decorating

To complete your elf, add a face and a felt hat (and any other decoration you like). Make sure everything is firmly fixed on (sticky fixing pads are useful to attach the hat). Have fun shaking!
