Introduction: Keep It Simple Outboard Motor Rack
Create a simple, no construction storage rack using a 2x4 and shelving you already have in your storage room or shop.
(Hint: turn the picture clockwise to see it properly. The motor is hanging right side up like it would be from your boat transom.)

Step 1: Locate a Heavy Duty Storage Rack
I used a rack that we already had in our storage room. We had previously purchased a gorilla rack that we use to store stuff on.
Step 2: Cut a 2x4 to Size.
Cut a 2x4 to fit between the end frames of the rack. I cut mine to 17.5 inches after measuring the depth of the rack.
Step 3: 2x4 Becomes the Hanger for Your Motor
Place the 2x4 between the frame on the end of the rack. Make sure it is high enough to accommodate your motor.
Step 4: Voila! Go Ahead and Hang Your Motor
Hook your motor off the 2x4 so it hangs along side your rack.
