Introduction: Killer Robot

In this instruction tutorial you will be taught how to create a robot capable of annihilating anything that stands in its path. To start, you must need a brain, a body, and a mindset of madness.

Step 2: Body Design

Not only does this robot perform well, but it also looks really cool. The creators of this robot were two car enthusiasts who dove deep into the body design phase. This robot has a very aerodynamic look with a rear wheel drive setup. To make this robot super cool you can add decals, armor, and a sweet spoiler for good looks. As previously said this robot performs super well too. Adding armor in specific places helps immensely against enemy attacks and adding four static scalpels pointing out will help penetrated and pin an enemy, and intimidate them into a more defensive mindset which this robot is prepared for. The main weapon lies in the hammer category and is ferocious and the shovel in the front is a great addition to scoop up opponents and pin/push them in the direction you desire.

Step 3: Body Construction

All of the attaching and binding for this robot’s body can be completed with hot glue and or tape where the creator sees fit.

First cut out a bottom that fits your battles constraints and desires. See step six to figure out wheel placement and attach them. Cut out two body panels like is shown in the picture and cut sufficient holes if necessary to fit the wheels. Draw decals to the sides now if you would like to make the robot look super cool. Attach to the bottom panel with hot glue. Add the non-continuous servo to the front and attach it two the weapon so that it may chop up and down. The weapon can be created with popsicle sticks alone for the bottom segment, and then popsicle sticks and a scalpel for the second segment. Attach the two segments at the angle you desire and wrap the whole weapon together with electrical tape. Add a metal shovel to the very front and angle it so that the tip of the shovel is lover than the robots body. The tip of the shovel is used as the front wheel and does a really good job! Add the four scalpels by poking them through the side panels at an angle of your choosing. Try to make them symmetrical for the best looks. Add lightweight metal armor with a larger surface area to the sides and add long skinny pieces to the bottom as reinforcements as the robot’s weight cannot be held by the foamcore bottom alone. Cut out a top that will fit and add a spoiler of your favored size to it. Do not glue the top onto the robot until all of the wiring and electronics are in place. Adding the top should be the last step in creating the robot.

Step 4: Electronics Wiring

This portion of the project is simple if you have electronics that are all compatible with each other. The first step is to connect the battery pack to the receiver in the first slot. Next you are to connect the first continuous (wheel) servo to the receiver, the second continuous servo, and then the non continuous (weapon) servo. Make sure that all of the ground wires are all on the same side facing away from the rest of the receiver.

Step 5: Electronics Placement

Place the electronics in a formation that has weight more in the back so that it had more torque out of the drive. Try placing all motors, the battery pack, and the transmitter in the back. More specifically, place the battery pack on the main base, the transmitter and the non-continuous servo on the battery pack, and the continuous motors on the left and right bottom ends. Most of the wires should be bunched up together around the center.Place the electronics in a formation that has weight more in the back so that it had more torque out of the drive. Step 6: Wheel Mounting

Mount the wheels on the servo motors which were placed on the rear left and right ends. To ensure a tight fit that would stay mounted on the motor, insert hot glue in the wheel and attaching it to the white piece on the motor. After letting the glue dry, the wheel should be very firm.

Step 7: Remote Control

Use an R/C plane remote controller for the controller. If you placed the wires to the transmitter correctly, the right analog should control the movement and the left analog should control the weaponized arm.

Step 8: Drive

Once you have finished all the steps, your deadly killer robot should be ready for action. Make sure to be very safe with robot and keep it away from human contact as much as possible, especially while turned on and driving. When picking it up, pick it up from the bottom. The robot should be able to drive forward and backwards and turn 360 degrees. Only use the robot on other robots to ensure a sweet and menacing killing and destruction on both the robot and the mentality of your unlucky opponent.
