K'nex Grandfather Clock

Intro: K'nex Grandfather Clock

I would have loved to post a whole Instructable but I don't have enough pieces to build a second clock and to post instructions I would have had to take it apart.  The actual mechanism is pretty simple so you should be able to build it from this video.
If you like please vote in the Clock contest.

If you decide to build one, it probably won't stay running to start with, you have to play with the weights, to little and it won't run, to much and the weight will overpower the escapement.  The idea was completely my own, I couldn't find any other real clocks from K'nex until after I had build it.

EDIT
Thanks for the great reply's, I never thought It would be this popular, thank you everyone for the high rating and getting it featured.
I am going to put the specs in a list right here.
SPECS
One revolution of the hand = 1 minute within a second.
It will run for eleven minutes before needing to be rewound.
It uses 7 gears but only requires 5 the other two are to even out the torque.
The weight is about one pound.

Build Tips
If you want to build it here are some tips.
The pendulum is NOT attached directly to the escapement wheel teeth, It uses a blue/green K'nex hinge.
Don't try to use K'nex as a weight, you just won't get enough weight.
Make the frame strong, 1 pound hanging off the side is a lot for K'nex.
There is only a 1 inch gap in the support for the K'nex rod that has the weight wound on it, so that it doesn't bow.
Use kite string, thread won't last long, trust me I know.
Mine would some times "skip a beat" another words go tick.......... tick...........tick.............tick..tick...........tick, so I had to put a piece of masking tape on the escapement tooth, that made it stop slipping.
If you decide to build one, it probably won't stay running to start with, you have to play with the weights and the pendulum, to little and it won't run, to much and the weight will overpower the escapement.
The Pendulum Can't touch the frame, it must be free, my pendulum is not attached directly to the hinge but out on a white rod.

Laser Cutter
I am entering in the Clock and Epilog Contest.
I will say right now that I would LOVE to have a laser cutter and have a million things planned for it. (well not quite but close!)
I will not put a list of things I would do here because I have read others lists that are like that and they are boring but I will put a few.
A laser cutter would be used in all of my projects, I build electronic things and mechanical things and everything in between, I never stay on one subject long, but have build Thousands of things. A laser cutter could be used to manufacture parts for around the house along with my crazy projects, I have always thought life would be better if everyone could make their own stuff. If I get the Laser cutter I would build a Rep Rap with it because with both you could build anything. I have several friends who build stuff and If I got it they would be able to use it to to help in their projects.

Thanks! Hope you liked it.

I have made a new clock that is simpler, and runs longer. It uses one third of the pieces as this one and runs for more than 25 minutes. I will post full instructions on one to two weeks!
cool but I made one that lasted for 30+ mins. It hangs on a door.
It would have run for 30 minutes if it was on a door and the weight could have fallen that far.
thanks for the comment.
Yes but if you use a big gear with a small gear it make it last longer. But you will need more wight.
i know. i did. i have as much weigh as i feel safe putting on it.
Well, It looks like I'm not a finalist, Thanks for your views and votes anyways.
Hope you liked it.
This is the best mechanical design I've ever seen on instructables! Please post this and I'll call you the god of anti- motor designs! :-)
Awww, I've always wanted to make one of these myself. You did well, though- better than I could've!
I forgot to say, I made this a couple of days before the clock contest came out, when I saw the latest contest was about contest I was so excited, I had so much to do though and wanted to add a second hand on the FRONT, (it used to be on the side) before I posted that I only made the deadline by three hours. I will update the ible if I add a minute hand.
Great build, one of the more intricate k'nex projects I've seen .
Thank you, If you could vote in the clock contest it would be awesome, I am a electronics hobbyist too, so I would love the Ice clock kit.
Very, very impressive. Brilliant design, and well executed! Hope you win the laser cutter!
Thanks, I seem to have missed the Clock Contest even though I entered it 3 Hours before hand.
Thanks for the views, the featuring and the and the replys.
I did get accepted to the Clock contest, it just took time, I was impatient and thought I missed it, but I didn't!

I might hold a micro contest with the 3 month pro membership I got. I'll Just have to see.
