Introduction: LED Mountain Wall Art

Materials:

2 18inx12inx1/4in boards (for mountains)

1 18inx12inx1/2in board (for back board)

1 set of Govee LED Strip Lights 32.8ft Waterproof Color Changing Light Strips with Remote (can be bought here)

L shaped LED connectors (can be bought here)

Protective Finish (I used Minwax Polycrylic)

Step 1: Laser Cutting

First, start by laser cutting both layers of mountains.

Step 2: Sanding and Polishing

Next I sanded and polished the front side of each piece. I used two coats and sanded in between each coat.

Step 3: Drilling/laser Cutting Holes

I drilled a 5/8 inch hole into the backboard and laser cut a 5/8 inch hole into the middle layer for the LEDs to be threaded through later. I had already finished the middle layer so I taped over it so there wouldn't be any smoke marks from laser cutting the hole.

Step 4: Assembly and Threading LEDs

Next I layered every layer, with a 2inx9inx1/2in board between each layer. Before glueing, I threaded my LEDs through the backboard and stuck them around the outside of the mountains, using connectors for each corner. Then I threaded them through the hole into the second layer and again stuck them around the outside of the mountains with connectors.

Step 5: Gluing

Finally, I glued all of the pieces together and clamped them overnight.

Step 6: Finished Product!!

This is what it looked like all finished!
