The idea is based on the dungeon and dragon type boardgames and features a band of heroes helping out a group of miners and a monster hiding in the next room waiting for his next meal.

This build is entered in the contest "Toy building blocks" and I would appreciate it if you'd vote when you enjoyed this build/instructable.

Step 1: Step 1: Gather Your LEGO

For this build I kind of had an idea in mind of what I was going to make and for that I just grabbed the bins with gray pieces because I knew I wouldn't really use any other colour.

Step 2: Step 2: Create a Basic Wall for Your Hallway

After you gathering a whole bunch of gray pieces I started building the basics of my wall, for this you can use whatever gray pieces you have lying around to build up the wall and use them to add some detail too, more on that in the next step.

Besides building up just a wall I also added hinges for a door and made sure the door would only be able to open up one way, right into the room with the monster.

The bottom part is divided in different sections based on how the boardgames work with movement.

Step 3: Step 3: Adding Some More Detail to Your Wall

With the use of some simple bricks most people (who enjoy LEGO) have lying around you can add some nice detail to the wall to make it look just a bit more pleasing.

For the top of the whole thing I used smoothed out bricks which gives it that nice clean look, after that I added a bat to the middle of it, because what's a dungeon without a bat?

Step 4: Step 4: Adding Some "life"

For even more detail and making the dungeon look dangerous I added a statue to the wall and two skeletons of previous heroes who turned out not to find their way to fame and glory.

Step 5: Step 5: Adding the Monster

For the monster I just used a dragon I had lying around, I put him on a base similair to the base I created for the rest of the diorama and with the use of some bricks I added fire in front of him to make his room look dangerous.

Instead of just using a monster that's already done you could use bricks to create your own one of a kind monster our heroes will be up against.

Step 6: Step 6: Adding the Minifigures

The final step in my diorama was creating a band of heroes fit for the challenge. Looking at how most videogames and boardgames in this genre work I created a knight, rogue, archer and mage who are helping out some miners recovering their stolen treasure in this dungeon.

Step 7: Step 7: Put It on Display!

It's done! Now you can put the thing on display or add even more to it, I guess with some work you could even get this to work with some boardgame rules from actual boardgames and have a great experience.
