Introduction: LEGO NXT 2.0 MOTION CAMERA
Here is an video demostration, I used sphero as the object to take shots at.
Step 1: You Will Need:
Lego Mindstorms Nxt 1.0/ 2.0. RXT and Technic not recommended!
A camera!
Hands, brain, and eyes!
Batteries for your camera and NXT
Computer.
NXT programming software.
USB cable for your nxt to connect to your pc.
Step 2: Step 1
Build the base and the camera holder. Make sure fits your camera PERFECTLY and it will not wobble around. Also make sure it will support the weight of your camera.
Step 3: Step 2
Attach it to the NXT brick.
Step 4: Step 3
Build the camera button presser onto the motor. Then attach it to the sides of the NXT brick with 2 black connectors.
Step 5: Step 4
Attach the Ultrasonic sensor to the NXT brick.
Step 6: Step 5
Attach a (13) Beam to the bottom side of the NXT, this should keep it stable.
Now attach the cables.
Ultrasonic sensor-4
Motor-A
Thats the building done! Now lets move on the the programming...
Step 7: Step 6
Programming-
First put in a loop. then insert a wait-distance block, move block, wait-time block and another move block.
Adjust the wait-distance block to your needs, I had set it to <20cm, however you can set it to 2m if you want!
Make sure all the move blocks like to A, the first move block goes forward and the second goes backwards.
the move blocks should be set to degrees and can vary due to camera sizes, power should be set to around 50-70.
Use brake and NOT coast in the move blocks.
You can also change the waiting time to your needs.
Step 8: Finished!
Now just put it somewhere under shelter and wait for animals to pass by. You can put it into a box and cut out camera and some holes for the sensor and the camera, if you want it camouflaged. You can also put it beside bird feeders or bird tables to capture birds.
Here are some photos shot from the camera during the test!
Thats it, thanks:)
And remember, you can always modify and add extra sensors to my design. If you modify the programming, you can also make it record videos! Have fun!

Very cool!
Lego had a monthly challenge (still might... just haven't checked) and one of them was related to cameras. I did something similar to what you did here but mine wandered around and took pictures when it got close to objects. Here's a link to some pics:
