Introduction: Laser Cut Nesting Box

About: I'd love to share ideas, skills here with others!! Welcome to leave comments!

A simple nesting box done by laser cut, designed specifically for Tits.

But the project includes all needed files where it’s possible to change sizes according to other species needs.

And, also includes a PDF file where you can find all references. According to RSPB and BTO, different species has its own specific needs to be usable.

Step 1: What You Need

Wood: Softwood

A3 size sheet X 2, thickness: 6mm

Extra: Cable Tie / Wire / String or etc

Step 2: 3D Model and 2D Drawing

This drawing was made for Softwood which is 6mm thickness, if your wood is thicker, you need to change all number 6 according to your material thickness. (Also layout for people who wants to do by hand)

This nesting box was made for TITS only. But the project includes all needed files where it’s possible to change sizes according to other species needs.

And, also includes a PDF file where you can find all the references. According to RSPB and BTO, different species has its own specific needs to be usable.

IMPORTANT: It depends on the material itself, after laser cut, some of the material might be to lose, the files, Rhino and Ai are with 4 small holes in the bottom to tie with 4 sides, you can also change the details if you want to.

Step 3: Laser Cutting

Step 4: Assembling ( Using by Cable Zip As an Example )

Step 5: Install at Your Desired Place

This would be a great project to do with small kids. The interlocking pieces would make it a lot easier to assemble.

Hi! Thanks a lot for the comment. And there is one thing that I'd like to highlight is this is for TITS only and it would be great if people can find there target birds species and do their own design, so it will help the birds to breed more as the table I showed (step 3).
