What gasket material did you use? Techshop only allows certain (safe) materials to be cut on their laser cutters and I can't find much info on gasket sheet material other than 'rubber-fiber' or 'cork-fiber'.

I have not tried etching photos on the laser cutter, but I have seen it done. At my local Techshop people have etch images similar to logos on metal, plastic and wood. Portraits would be something I'll ask next time I'm in. As for the materials, theres a list of about ten specific types metals, plastic and foams that are not recommended, probably for your own safety. I'll keep you posted with my findings.
thanks for you interest,

Have you tried etching a photographic image with this machine? If so, what material did you use?
