Introduction: Laser Etch on a Rock
So I thought it would be cool to add a biblical scripture on a large rock.
Material you need.
A rock with a dark color so the etch will have contrasting letters.
Access to a laser etcher.
I made this at TechShop. www.techshop.ws

Step 1: Create Your Design File
I used CorelDraw to type up the scripture.
Step 2: Setup the Laser Bay.
The rock is about 4" thick so I had to remove the honeycomb base and raise the table. It's really important to get the distance correct.
I used a straight edge and the calipers to get this as close as possible when entering the material thickness in the printing preference.
I turned the rock over and made some test passes to besure I had the distance right.

Step 3: Let It Print (etch in This Case)
I did go +50% on the rastor etch setting amd it turned out nice.
