Introduction: Lembas Bread
A few months ago, I had a friend over and we watched all the Lord of the Rings movies. I made this Lembas bread and thought that I should share this recipe with all the Instructimites (anyone think this is a good name for the Instructables community? ) on this website. I found this recipe from the Wasted Lands website: http://wastedlandsfantasy.blogspot.com/2010/12/lembas-elvish-waybread-real-world.html?m=1
I made a few changes to the recipe that I like better. I hope you enjoy!

Step 1: Ingredients
Ingredients:
3 1/2 cups white flour
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
8 Tablespoons cold butter
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 Tablespoons cinnamon
1 Tablespoon vanilla
1/3 cup honey
3/4 cup milk
2 fresh, peeled, finely-chopped apple
1/4 cup crushed almonds (you can choose any nut you want, but I like almonds)
3 1/2 cups white flour
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
8 Tablespoons cold butter
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 Tablespoons cinnamon
1 Tablespoon vanilla
1/3 cup honey
3/4 cup milk
2 fresh, peeled, finely-chopped apple
1/4 cup crushed almonds (you can choose any nut you want, but I like almonds)
Step 2: Flour, Baking Powder, and Salt
Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. If you have an electric mixer, use it because it will speed everything up.
Step 3: Combine the Butter
Put the butter in the same bowl with the flour, baking powder, and salt. Now would be a good time to use an electric mixer to combine the butter with the other ingredients. Mix the ingredients until you get a crumbly mixture.
Step 4: Add Sugar, Cinnamon, Vanilla, Honey, Apple, and Nuts.
Combine the sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, honey, apple, and nuts. Mix the ingredients until everything is even.
Step 5: Add the Milk
Add the milk. Mix the ingredients until dough starts to form.
Step 6: Scoop the Dough
Sprinkle flour onto a counter to prevent the dough from sticking to everything and making a mess. Next, cover a pan with aluminum foil. After you sprinkle the flour and cover the pan, scoop the dough onto the counter and roll it into a large square about a 1/2 inch thick. Once it is a square (or rectangle), use a pizza cutter to cut the dough into 2-3 inch slices. If your dough is still sticky, use a spatula to transfer the slice from the counter to the pan. Make sure you leave some space between the slices to prevent them from sticking to each other.
Step 7: Baking
Preheat your oven to 425°. Once your preheat is done, put the bread onto the top rack (or center, depending on your oven) of your oven and let it bake for 10-12 minutes.
Step 8: Conclusion
In conclusion, this is a fun recipe to make if you like Lord of the Rings. It makes a good snack while watching the movies and doesn't take long to make. I hope you enjoyed!
