Intro: Lemon Print Shirts

In this instructable I show you how to print a t-shirt with lemons.

The print looks a bit Pop Art, Andy Warhol style.

This is a quick and easy project. Also fun to do with your kids.

STEP 1: Check Out My Quick Video Tutorial!

In this video I show you how to make the lemon print shirt.

Along with the video you can follow the (easy) steps below :-)

Youtube Video

STEP 2: Get Your Products and Materials Together.

For this Instructable I used:

  • Lemons
  • T-shirt
  • Textile paint

Furthermore I use some household basics like:

  • tissues
  • cardboard
  • a knife
  • paperplate
  • an iron.

STEP 3: Prepare

Let's lay down and flatten the T-shirt, insert some cardboard or paper so the print won’t press through all the way to the back of the shirt.

Now we cut a lemon in half or in a quarter and dry it a bit with some tissue.

Get a plate (or anything similar that will do) and pour in the yellow textile paint.

STEP 4: First Layer

Now we can start printing the first (yellow layer).

We get the lemon and dip it into the paint. You can just print the design how you like it.

When done we let the paint dry

STEP 5: Second Layer

Now it’s time to apply the second layer.

We get a piece of lemon again, but this time remove the flesh, the inside of the lemon. So just the outlines of the lemon will be printed.

Pour some black paint into the plate and start printing the lemons again.

When this step is done let your shirt dry.

STEP 6: Set the Print

Turn your shirt inside out and iron it. So the paint will be set to the fabric.

STEP 7: Done

That’s it, done ;-)

Thank you for checking out my Instructable.

I hope you got inspired to also make some creations.
I used lemons but you can also use other fruits if you like to.
