The faces could be done with plywood instead and be covered with chalkboard paint.
I am also thinking of attaching rope at the sides to stop the frame over-extending but it is still sturdy without it.

- 6x dressed pine boards (42MM x 19MM x 1.20M)
- Pocket hole screws
- 2x hinges
- 2x 6o0 x 900 mm facing (Corflute)

- Frame height 105cm (I also made one that is 115cm)
- 60cm across
- The placards are 600x900mm.
