Luminaria De Coco / Coconut Desk Lamp

Primeiramente vem a matéria prima para o projeto: o côco! Eu o abri com uma serra e lixei sua superfície até ficar bem liso ao toque.

First comes the raw material for the project: the coconut! I opened it with a saw and sanded the surface until it is smooth to the touch.

Step 1: Colocacao Da Haste / Placing the Rod

Eu consegui encontrar uma luminária barata (R$10,00) e a comprei para reutilização da haste, anteriormente havia pensado em utilizar um bambu para isto - tendo a vantagem de ser ôco por dentro e permitir a passagem dos fios.

I found a cheap lamp ($ 10.00) and bought it for reuse. Had previously thought to use it for a bamboo - taking the advantage of being hollow inside and allow the passage of wires.

Step 2: Passando Os Fios / Installing the Wires

Passei os fios por dentro da estrutura - lembrando que o fio deverá ir da lâmpada, descer pela haste, passar pelo botão liga/desliga e entao sair para a tomada, ou seja, utilize o tamanho necessário para isso, de acordo com seu desejo.

I installed the wires inside the structure - remembering that the wire will connect to the lamp, down the shaft, passing through the on / off button and then go out to the electrical outlet, so use the size needed for this, according to what you want .

Step 3: Instalando O Bocal Da Lampada / Installing the Nozzle Lamp

Novamente utilizei partes da luminária que havia comprado. Caso não tivesse este recurso, eu usaria um bocal comum de lâmpada - de cerâmica ou plástico mesmo.

Again I used parts of the desklamp that was purchased. If I did not have this feature, I would use a common nozzle lamp - ceramic or even plastic.

Step 4: Primeira Demao De Verniz / Lacquer Primer

Utilizei verniz marítimo para dar a primeira demão - já dá pra notar como ficou bem mais apresentável!

I used marine lacquer to give the first coat - can you see how it was more presentable!

Step 5: Criando a Base / Creating the Base

Para a base, utilizei o metal de um drive de CD-ROM estragado. Removi a lata, medi e fiz os recortes com a furadeira mesmo. Fiz também um furo para parafuso em caso de fixação na parede. Por último, colei uma borracha no fundo.

For the base, I used the metal from a CD-ROM spoiled. I removed the plate, measuring, and made the cuts with the drill. I also made a bolt hole for wall mounting. Finally, I glued a rubber on the bottom.

Step 6: Acabamento / Finish

Depois de tudo montado, apliquei umas duas demãos de verniz para remover os arranhados e marcas de dedo e deixei secar ao sol.

After all assembled, I applied a couple of coats of lacquer to remove scratches and fingerprints and let dry in the sun.

Step 7: Produto Finalizado / Finished Product

E aí temos o produto pronto: já com o plugue de energia no cabo, e com a lâmpada instalada.
Esta eu dei pro meu pai no dia dos pais!

And there we have the product ready: with the power plug in the cable, and a lamp.
This I gave to my dad on Fathers Day!

uma ideia, seria legal passar um verniz geral, ficará mais bonito e mais brilhoso, na minha caixinha eu utilizei um verniz em spray, verniz geral... :D

muito legal cara, tive essa ideia hoje e fui pesquisar se alguém já fez... muito bem feito a sua luminaria, recentemente eu fiz uma caixinha de som usando coco... acho que vou fazer um desses :P

This is Ultra-Impressive! I think it would get more view if you had the finished product picture very first...then we could see it on the thumbnail. Very, very cool! We love repurposing coconuts!
