Introduction: MDF TOWER STOOL

This stool was made for the contest called "Tenkaizu Budokai". You can check the detail about the contest on the following website. (http://f-labo.tumblr.com/post/127462448125/tenkaizu4en)

I just wanted to reproduce the beauty of a curved line of Kobe Port Tower in my hometown. There are two features. One is the appearance of hyperboloid structure, and the other is the uniqueness of sitting comfort. Because of the stool's structure, it is possible to twist the seat surface to the left or right. Please sit down, feeling moderate shaking with the whole body.

Size: W360 x L360 x H500 mm

Materials: two 909mm x 1,818mm sheets of MDF that are 2.5mm thick, and materials printed from 3D printer

Tools: laser cutting machine (Trotec speedy 300), 3D printer (Cube 2nd generation)

Software: Rhinoceros+Grasshopper, 123D Make

First, you need to cut all parts from the following pdf files by using laser cutting machine. Second, you also need to 3D-print the required parts (three clips to hold the surface pannel) based on the following stl file. Finally, you can assemble all the parts according to the numbers described in them.
