Know weight of magnet

Have a map of where you already magnet fished

have secondary rope and magnet

avoid dragging magnet to far

keep magnet a few inches off bottom

know how to tie knots

make a list of stuff found

Have a case for magnet

Keep magnet clean

Bring fishing pole and tackle

Add a float to back end of rope

tie down back end of rope so don't lose in water

It can get dirty

Know length of rope know how much weight rope can handle, should be twice magnet strength
