Did you know that you can make a game on Tinkercad? This instructable will teach you how to make an awesome game.

Supplies

A bit of imagination and a Tinkercad account.

Step 1: Plan

Plan your game. Think of how it works. How do you win? What is the challenge? What is the theme? Consider key mapping too.

Step 2: Add Functional Game Elements

Drag in some game elements.

Step 3: Add Connector

Open Sim Lab by clicking the falling apple, then add an axle or slider connector. Drag it from the side panel.

You will see that it has automatically been connected to an object. If you didn't like it, drag the orange circle and drag it to something else. Then, if you want, connect it to another object.

Step 4: Make Objects Unmovable

Click an object and press the ball falling off a slope to make it unmovable.

Step 5: Key Mapping

Select a connector.

Click "None" in the dropdown, and then click an option. Now, click "Edit interactions".

Map each key to an action. Tinkercad has a list of possible actions. You can then drag the slider to change amounts.

If you choose "on press" for an action, you will have to press the corresponding key once to perform it again. If you choose "while held", it will perform the action until you let go.

Step 6: Add Materials

You can add materials to not only make a cosmetic design, but also to affect physical properties.

The video shows different material cubes falling from the same height.

The grid material is cosmetic and has the same physical properties as plastic.

Step 7: Add an Earthquake (if Needed)

Click the landscape with roots, and drag the shake amplitude. This will make the ground and unmovable objects shake.

If the earthquake is the challenge, ask yourself if it is too hard or easy to overcome.
