Step 1: Find
To make your Makedo Periscope, you will need 2 milk cartons, 2 compact mirrors, 2 pieces of cardboard for your mirrors to sit on and some Makedo parts.
Step 2: Cut
For the shaft of the Periscope, begin by cutting the triangular top off your milk carton.
Step 3: Cut
Next we need to make the viewing window. Cut out a 50mm x 50mm square near the bottom of the milk carton.
Step 4: Punch
To hold the mirror in place, position the mirror so that it sits between the piece of cardboard and the Makedo Lock-hinge. Connect the Lock-hinge to the cardboard using a Makedo Re-clip. This will hold the mirror tightly in position.
Step 5: Connect
Ensure that your Lock-hinge sits at a 45 degree angle when you place it in the milk carton at the viewing window. To check if the angle of the mirror is correct, look through the viewing window at the mirror and adjust it so that you can see the ceiling through the top of the carton.
Step 6: Connect
Use Makedo Re-clips to connect the bottom of the angled Lock-hinge to the bottom of the milk carton.
Step 7: Build
Repeat steps 1-6 for the second milk carton. Finally, slot the second milk carton on top of the first ensuring that the viewing windows are facing in opposite directions from each other. Your Makedo Periscope is now complete! Be a detective and use it to spy around corners.
