Introduction: Makey Makey Simon

Simon Says is a game where you have to memorize multiple patterns and you would be promoted to repeat said patterns. The audience can be anyone, as the game is easy at first, but challenging later on.

Supplies

This project relies on the usage of the Makey Makey tool, a working internet connection, and a computer with a USB channel.

Pipe Cleaners, Paper Fasteners (Conductible), Styrofoam Base, Tape and Pins (Conductible).

Printer is optional for background and design.

Sharpies are also optional.

Step 1: Programming

Scratch Programming is quite simple. This project was used to be intended for arrow keys, however it's been modified to suit the Makey Makey project. This project is published and opened sourced. Feel free to use and edit.

Step 2: Styrofoam Base

Coil four pipe cleaners. You can use a pen or your own finger to coil it. Attach Pipe Cleaners to the Styrofoam Base. You can cut the styrofoam base into any shape you want, however preferably a rectangle. If you printed something for design, make sure you put on the printed background first with tape or glue.

Step 3: Attaching Pins to Pipe Cleaners

Removed the sharp pins from the entire pin button. This will allow you to insert Pipe Cleaners into the Pin itself. Please refer to the picture.

Step 4: Paper Fasteners

Attach paper fasteners to the sides of the styrofoam. When you press the buttons down, it should touch with each other.

Step 5: Attach Alligator Clips to Makey Makey

Make sure the alligator clips to the paper fasteners and to the buttons.

OPTIONAL: You can instead create a "ring" out of the Paper Fasteners. Attach an Alligator Clip to the ring and this will remove the need to attach alligator clips to the buttons.

Step 6: Final Project
