Introduction: Mandala - Breath of Time

Been inspired by the Mandala of Tibet. Simple geometry of circle makes it having a concept of wholeness and putting it piece by piece is indeed an act of practice, "Patience". Thus, it has a special meaning and I began to venture on recycle papers which lays around pretty much in the house. Having the Mandala was one of my wish and so the "Breath of time" come along with the concept of geometry, color therapy and balancing (yin and yang) where it all tied consistently and uniformly in harmony.

Supplies

Materials needed :

  1. Some papers used or fresh - I prefer recycling. ( you can go to my "Beautiful vases" to get steps on how to roll the paper strip and into a circle form)
  2. White glue
  3. Scissor
  4. Acrylic paints - easily purchased tube (just realized , I have the traffic light colors ^_~ )
  5. Paint brush

Step 1: Assemble the Core

First, gather some circles into a flower form (pic 1) and tied them up in the center core first then wrap around paper strips until you find enough width band (pic 2)

note: I start with white as it symbolized purity but you can always start with your choice of colors to be playful in colors.

Step 2: Multiple Outer Core Layering

Once the core circle is done, you may wonder how many circles are needed to go on the next layer. I suggest to keep enough papers and plenty of circles pre done (pic 1). Next, Bring around the circles and go around the core circle until you find the fit and color code it. My second layer is orange (pic 2) , where it begin to warm as the first sunshine. the first breath in the morning. It is a little bit tricky here on the tied join. I applied Yin Yang here for balance so you may noticed to single tie and double or cross tie. (pic 4). Hence, the other layers roll on with it.

The next layer I pick blue follow by green as emotional balance, where warmth turns into coldness (pic 1). Yellow come in the next layer to warm up again (pic 3) and eventually reach its highest peak of red , "fire" symbolizing the brightness and motivating energy flux to radiate more wonderful circles as in the wonders of Rainbows that usually emerge after rain. ( I decided to end here as with times, or if you have more times you can add more and make a much bigger mandala).

Just like the rainbow, we represent the many colors of identity. When we live unitely side by side and harmoniously, The World would be a beautiful place.
