Introduction: Masala Spice Cookies
I have been an active member 5 years ago. Back with a flavourful yet simple recipe. The cookies has an Indian flavor to it and its flaky. The flaky and crunchy texture is what I love about it. Its a good tea time snack.
Supplies
2 cups All Purpose Flour (Maida)
1/3 cup Butter , softened
2 tablespoons Curd (Dahi / Yogurt)
1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
1 teaspoon Ginger , grated
3 teaspoons Sugar
1 teaspoon Salt
2 teaspoons Cumin seeds (Jeera)
2 Green Chillies , finely chopped
1 sprig Curry leaves , finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
1/2 teaspoon Asafoetida (hing)
Step 1:
The first step would be to soften the butter till its creamy. Once its soft and fluffy add in sugar and beat them together.
Step 2: All the Other Ingredients
Now its adding in all the spices mentioned in the recipes. If you like real hot flavor you can vary the quantity of the red chilly powder. Also chop the green chilly and add to the dough. Curd, hing, salt, cumin seeds add in lot of flavor to the cookie dough. Ginger, all purpose flour, baking powder and thats it. Knead them all together.

Hello, On step 3, you show the cookies on a cookie sheet, but I do not see a baking time or temperature. Are these baked? If so, how long & what temperature. Thank you
Also, I am not familiar with Asafoetida (hing), is this a powder, & would I find this in an Indian spice store. I would like to try these cookies, these sound very good. Thank you
