Introduction: Mechanism Toy Design
I made the CAM toy that was demonstrated in class.
Step 1: Fusion 360 - Create the Outer Box
Used Fusion 360 to create the main frame of the toy. Added rigid joints to connect the walls with each other.
Step 2: Fusion 360 - Added the Followers + Cams
Used a revolute joint for the shaft, rigid joints to connect the cams with the shaft, and slider joints to connect the followers to the top of the box. Made the resting position of the sliders 4mm so that they don't overlap with the cams. Created a contact set between the followers and top panel of the box so the followers don't go through the box and act like they would in the real-world.
Step 3: Fusion 360 - Added the Lever
Added the lever to the box. Used a rigid joint here as well and connected it to the shaft specifically.
Step 4: Print on the Ender 3 Pro
Unfortunately, I was not able to print the end product because when I came into the lab, I realized that I had not taken tolerances into consideration. I worked on it for a while but eventually ran out of time!
