Introduction: Mexican Microwave Salsa
Simple Mexican Salsa that can be made in 15 minutes using a microwave and hand held blender.
Ingredients:
1) 3 large tomatoes
2) 6 Serrano Peppers
3) 1 teaspoon crushed garlic
4) 1 teaspoon salt
Step 1: Clean and Remove Stem
Clean 3 large tomatoes and remove stem part of each tomato.
Step 2: Serrano Pepper Preparation
Wash and remove stem of Serrano peppers. I like to use 2 peppers per tomato to make it mild or 10 peppers per tomato to make it extra hot.
Step 3: Microwave Bowl
Add the tomatoes and Serrano peppers to a deep microwave safe bowl. Cover the bowl with Saran Wrap.
Step 4: Microwave Bowl Contents
Place the bowl in a microwave. Microwave on high for 6 minutes.
Step 5: Remove Tomato Skin
Remove the Saran Wrap. Using a fork, remove as much of the tomato skin. Careful, the tomatoes will be super hot.
Step 6: Add Crushed Garlic
Add one teaspoon of crushed garlic to the bowl.
Step 7: Add Salt
Add one teaspoon of salt to the bowl.
Step 8: Purée the Mixture
Using a hand held blender or putting the entire mixture in a blender - blend until your preferred consistency. My preferred consistency is shown in the picture.
Step 9: Put in a Bowl
Place in a bowl and put it out on the table for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

This looks quick and tasty! I love almost any kind of salsa, so I'll have to give this a try. Thanks!

You could just boil the tomato's to de-skin them and then mix them in a blender with whatever spices you want.

Correct you could boil the tomatoes. Microwave reduces the time to cook since you don't have to wait for the water to come to a boil. Also when you microwave you get pure tomato juice. No additional water. So it leaves the salsa just a little bit thicker to cling to your food or chips. Thanks for the feedback!
