There are a lot of minecraft "irl" foods out there but surprisingly no cookies. I had to do something about this monstrosity. I went straight to work planning out the idea. The recipe is really simple and can be done in almost no time at all. Perfect for when you and your buddies decide to do a Minecraft all-nighter and need some chow. These cookies look amazing and taste just as good. It isn't that complicated to make so please don't just look at the pictures. Step 1: Ingredients

For this recipe you just need:

1 cup of Shortening
3/4 cup White Sugar
3/4 cup Brown Sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. Vanilla
1 tsp. Salt
3/4 tsp. Baking Powder (Has to be baking powder)
1/4 tsp. Baking Soda (Use these exact measurements)
2 3/4 - 3 cups Flour
A handful of chocolate chips

This is just your regular old chocolate chip cookie recipe but modified a little bit. We need to use baking powder and more flour than usual to make a stiffer, crispier dough that works like sugar cookie dough or play-doh. That way we can mold them into the iconic pixel shape. Don't skimp out on anything or it won't turn out right.

This makes around 8 cookies, 10 if you are careful.

Step 2: Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Don't forget this step or else it takes a billion times longer.

Step 3: It's Creaming Time

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the shortening and both types of sugar. Cream until light and fluffy. Once fluffy, add both eggs one at a time mixing continuously. This is the "egg goop part". Here we are preparing the wet side of the cookies so that when we add the dry side we have cookies with a better texture and a better taste, and we always want the better taste.

Step 4: Dry Stuff

In a separate bowl, lightly mix together the flour, baking soda and powder, and salt. This step isn't completely necessary to do but it does make the cookies more even, with no chunks or anything.

Step 5: Two Worlds Collide

Slowly add portions of the dry goods into the mixing bowl and mix on low, unless you want a brand new ghost costume keep it on LOW! When you mix all the stuff together it will look a little crumbly but trust yourself, if you did all the instructions right it will even out and become moist and delicious. DON'T ADD CHOCOLATE CHIPS!

Step 6: You Get to Play With Your Food!

Take the dough out of the bowl and put on a clean, flat surface. Get a sizable hunk and flatten it out to about 1/3 of an inch in a kind of oval or circle shape. Use a butter knife to make a cut across the top and bottom. Now on all four corners cut away a little L shape to give it that pixel type look. Be sure to have slightly exaggerated edges, the dough will puff out a little bit in cooking. At this point you can place your chocolate chips upside-down in the cookie, if you have chocolate chunks then even better. Now it looks like it does in the game.

Step 7: Give It to the Furnace!

Carefully move the cookies to a lined sheet pan and then place it into the oven which is preheated to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep these cookies in the furnace for around 8-10 minutes depending on how crispy you want them.

Step 8: Hold Right Click and Enjoy!

You are done. Let cool for a good 10 minutes though or else they will fall apart. Now you have a delicious cookie fit for a real gamer nerd or just the casual player. Give them to your friends, family, monkey, neighborhood hobo, or creeper, everybody loves them! Just be sure to wrap them in plastic wrap before you store them in your chest for eternity.
