Introduction: Mini Spider Cake
So just in time for Halloween is this mini spider cake!
The great thing about this (other than of course that it IS cake) is that it's small enough to be gift size but not as tiny as a cupcake! To be honest, I didn't make this for Halloween but instead for a person who loves spiders but it would make the perfect Halloween gift or just another addition to a table full of sweet treats, after all isn't that the best part about Halloween? Hope you enjoy!
Step 1: How to Make It
Sadly, for now this is just a photo instructable but I'll give a basic description on how to make it!
His head and body is made from a vanilla butter cake, to make the head you will need 1 cupcake and the body one mini cake tin, its important to let it rise as this give it a nice rounded shape for his back, once you've stuck the two together, ice it up with chocolate frosting and sprinkles, then down the back a stripe of red icing. Then of course the legs, simply 'glue' two mint sticks together with a little melted chocolate and poke them in, then choc bits' eyes (with a dab of red fondant) and lastly I carved the pincers from squares of chocolate.
If you make this, post a photo in the comments,I would love to see it! Thank you for viewing!!

This is fantastic! I love it! You could use pretzel sticks for the legs too. The fangs and eyes are carved/formed chocolate?

Yes pretzel sticks are a great idea!
and yes, the fangs are each craved from a square of regular chocolate, I simply let it warm to room temperature so that it cut smoother and craved it with a knife, it did however take a few attempts to get them just right, as for the eyes I used choc bits(or some times called choc chips) and stuck on a little red fondant, and cut the top edge to make him look a bit more evil :)
