Well friends, today I bring you a very different use from the one that is usually given to the toothbrush, although it is not a very powerful tool, it does make it very useful for the small details in the thumbnails. Bueno amigos, hoy os traigo un uso muy diferente del que se le suele dar al cepillo de dientes, si bien, no es una herramienta muy potente, si lo hace muy útil para los pequeños detalles en las miniaturas. Quédate y échale un ojo al proceso el cual es mas que simple y asequible. Por otro lado, en el video de cabecera encontraras, además del montaje, su funcionamiento.

STEP 1: Head Preparation / Preparacion Del Cabezal

Basically we will proceed to cut the bristles of the toothbrush and glue the head with cyanoacrylate. If you do not have a printer, gluing the aforementioned piece of plastic or cardboard so that it is centered will be more than enough (always with the appropriate diameter).

In addition, we can also stick a piece of rubber to the surface of the brush to make the sandpaper smoother and to adapt in part to the surface to be sanded.

Básicamente procederemos a cortar las cerdas del cepillo de dientes y pegarle el cabezal con cianocrilato. Sino se posee impresora, con pegar el ya mencionado trozo de plástico o cartón de manera que quede centrado será mas que suficiente (siempre con el diámetro adecuado)

Además, también podremos pegar un trozo de goma a la superficie del cepillo para hacer que el papel de lija quede mas suave y pueda adaptarse en parte a la superficie a lijar.

STEP 2: Sanding Discs (Double Sided Tape) / Discos De Lija (cinta Doble Cara)

First we will cut the sandpaper into circles of the appropriate diameter, it is a rather tedious task but it ends up being finished. I cut various types of grain to have a bit of variety when choosing, as well as various sizes, depending on the circumstance.

Once we have cut a few hundred (or 5) we will proceed to glue a double-sided piece to one of them, in order to obtain a good fixation as well as easy removal of the sandpaper with the head.

Primeramente cortaremos en círculos del diámetro adecuado el papel de lija, es una tarea bastante tediosa pero acaba terminándose. Yo corte de varios tipo de grano para tener un poco de variedad a la hora de elegir, además de varios tamaños, para según que circunstancia.

Una vez tengamos cortados unos pocos cientos (o 5) procederemos a pegar un trocito de doble cara a caca uno de ellos, con el fin de obtener una buena fijación asi como fácil eliminación de el papel de lija con el cabezal.

STEP 3: Sanding Discs (Velcro) / Discos De Lija (velcro)

Well, there is the possibility of buying sandpaper for machines that comes with velcro, it is much more expensive, but it is much more comfortable, since we save ourselves putting and removing double tape. I have reused one that I had from an old sander as an example.

On the other hand, we bought a few centimeters of velcro for curtains and glued the opposite to the head so that we can change the sandpaper easily and quickly.

Bien, existe la posibilidad de comprar papel de lija para maquinas que viene con velcro, es bastante mas caro, pero es mucho mas cómodo, ya que nos ahorremos el estar poniendo y quitando cinta de doble. Yo he reutilizado uno que tenia de una antigua lijadora como ejemplo.

Por otro lado compramos unos centímetros de velcro de cortinas y pegamos el contrario a el cabezal y asi podemos ir cambiando la lijas fácil y rápidamente.

STEP 4: To Sand / a Lijar

Well, now we simply select the head with the necessary diameter, we stick some sandpaper on it and let's go! Remember that being a toothbrush, every 30 seconds it will make a small vibration.

What a great idea, and one so simple to implement too.

There are a lot of circle punches available for craft projects. While they might not last long cutting sandpaper, they are relatively inexpensive and would make cutting the circles much, much easier.

You can go even easier, just take a small tube where the inner diameter is the size of the circle you want to punch out. Brass is the traditional choice.

You can put that in a drill, and spin it on some sandpaper to sharpen a bevel on the outside edge. Finer angle is a better cut but will get blunt faster too.

You can use that as a punch wit a hammer, or use it in the drill to slice through many layers at once (usually for bookbinding etc)

Once its blunted by the abrasive, just give it a sharpen with the drill and sandpaper
